4 speed luxury model Hirondelle retro-directe

Very rare 4 speed luxury model Hirondelle retro-directe, special model that has the two speeds backwards and forwards pedalling, but also an extremely rare and interesting front lever operated changer. A similar model is illustrated in the book "The Golden Age". Also mentionned as a very early front derailleur in "The Dancing Chain".

Overpainted but with original gold lettering over black paint on the chain guard and down tube : "Super Hirondelle St Etienne". The "Super" indicates luxury model. Special lever with locking mechanism for the back brake lever, nice lamp bracket, Hirondelle brakes, Hirondelle badge, luxury model pedals and double front chainrings.

Original back wheel will go with - pretty big project....
