ČKV 1880 "Prague Mile" 1993 - 2013
Czech Velocipedist Club 1880 Organize Small Meeting in Prague for Celebration "The End of Season" since 1993.
The bicycle has a long and gloriol history in the Czech lands. The poet Jan Kollár road on a bicycle in the year the first machine with two Wheel in a single track was invented (Karl Drais, 1917). The first boneshaker – real machine with pedals on the axis of the front wheel appeared in France latter 1865 and Václav Vondřich rode one of four years later during the ceremonial placing of the cornerstone of the National Theatre. Real cycling fever broke out in this country in 1880 by Kohout Brother and Czech Velocipedist Club „ČKV 1880“.

From the middle of the 19980´s, interest in the history of cycling gradually awakened in this country. Over time, enthusiasts found aach another, had a look at chat was happening in other countries and, in 1993, held an international meeting of collectors of historical bicycles. 350 cyclist from around the Word came to Prague. The first 1-mile race was held on the Letna plains at that time. Since then, it has been repeated every year. The club was again registred on 29 March 1993.
